Initial Consultation

innercity landscapes design process begins with an in depth discussion with the client.   You may help us by providing photographs, web images and magazine cuttings that show preferred garden styles, use of space, landscape materials, plant species, colour palettes etc.
This information is then compiled in a Design Brief which is used by innercity landscapes to aid in the development of the landscape concept and final plan.

Concept Plan

The Concept Plan is a scale drawing of the area to be landscaped. This shows the exterior of any buildings, location of doors and windows and type of room that looks onto the garden area e.g. bedroom, bathroom.
The Concept Plan will define areas of use for the garden; examples being decking, BBQ area, swimming pool, garden beds, shade structures etc.
It will also include features such as screens, water features, large pots or urns.
Plant type or use (e.g. shading) will be indicated.
Documentation presented to the client will include 1 black and white and 1 coloured Concept Plan.

Final Plan

The Final Plan will further develop the Concept Plan and include alterations and modifications to be made as a result of consultation and review with the client.
The Final Plan is a scale drawing that can be used for construction purposes.  Elevation drawings (where necessary) are also included.
The Final Plan also names all materials to be used, measurements of spaces, heights of walls, features etc.
All plant names, pot sizes and quantities are listed in the plant schedule and photographs of the selected plants are attached as a plant gallery.

Documentation presented to the client will include 2 black and white and 1 coloured plan and a
Plant Gallery (coloured photographs, plant description)

Lighting Plan

Lighting plans detail the type and number of light fittings to be used, transformer type and location and cable sizes where required.
Light fittings are selected to perform specific tasks and the correct choice is essential. Outdoor lighting is generally low voltage and may be switched from inside the home for convenience, remotely controlled or activated by light sensors or by timer.

Irrigation Plan

Irrigation usually involves dividing watering into zones. This is done to control water in specific areas, be it lawn, pots or urns, and caters for areas that receive excessive sun or areas that receive little or no sun. Plant requirements also vary greatly and the correct application of water can be vital.

The plan includes connection details to a water tank or town water supply, type of switching mechanism (manual or automatic) switching mechanism from tank to town water and must include information about back flow prevention, pressure control and filtration.
The type and location of, the irrigation manifold, diameter of pipes, sprinklers and drippers are also considered.
